Saturday Blogging

It’s Saturday and if you are like most freelancers, you are probably working versus spending time with your family.

There are some things that you have to be careful of – don’t burn yourself out. If you don’t take time to spend with friends and family, your freelancing could wind up being a source of additional stress.

Taking time off is hard to do when you have customers who are clamoring for you to do work for them (ah the price we pay for being good at our work!) but that doesn’t mean you should say yes to every job that comes your way. Here are some ideas to help you plan time off.

Outsourcing – While some people may scoff at the idea of outsourcing your writing, it can help you prevent burnout. Make sure that your clients understand you are considering this as you don’t want to be deceptive;

Better planning – Take advantage of more time management tools that are available to you; the better you manage your time, the more you can get done;

Take advantage of existing content – If you have work on other writing sites, consider doing a simple “blurb” of about 50 to 100 words and posting that on your blog. Another option is to use PLR content for a “once a week” posting (don’t overdo this).

Summary

Don’t burn yourself out or you’ll be of no use to anyone – on top of that, you’ll soon lose your enthusiasm for your writing work.
