Writer Access is a slightly different type of site from those that have been reviewed previously. This site provides tip based work in batches to various clients. To be accepted at Writer Access, a sample of work must be submitted that is graded for spelling, grammar, layout and SEO use. You can read more about the grading on their website under Writer Grading.
About the assignments
Writer access seems to gather a fair amount of assignments each month. The assignments vary from product reviews, articles or website content. Each assignment is assigned a “Writing Level”. As a Level 4 writer (my categorization) I can choose from all levels of requests except Level 5. However, it is important to note that payments are based on writing levels.
How payment works
Each assignment offers writers the opportunity to earn at a “per word” rate. This varies depending on writing level and on the amount of words for each assignment. The breakdown of payment levels is listed clearly on the website and is broken down like this:
- Level 2 earns 0.91 cents per word
- Level 3 earns 2.03 cents per word
- Level 4 earns 3.57 cents per word
- Level 5 earns 4.76 cents per word
Not a bad payout. It is important to note the maximum payout on each assignment so that you will know what you are being paid. Once work is submitted, you may wait up to forty-eight hours for an approval. However, with that said, the publisher may come back and request changes as well.
The quality of the assignments
The assignment quality on Writers Access is varied, from simple blog posts to more complicated pipe delimited product information. The assignments are graded by level so if you are a level 3 you cannot work on level 4 or 5 projects. If you are level 4, you can work on level 1, 2 or 3.
Each publisher includes information about exactly what they expect from the assignment including keywords, density and length. This is perhaps one of the best features of Writer Access since each set of instructions is unique to the project. Projects also have a specific deadline, generally less than seventy-two hours.
Payments from Writers Access
Writers Access pays one time per month, provided your account balance is more than $10. Payments are made directly to your PayPal account provided you have a valid W9 form on file. Payments are generally made by the 10th of each month.
Writer Access offers a range of projects for those writers that feel they can work within a fairly strict deadline and keep the quality of their work up. Emails are sent out when new assignments are posted and when your article has been accepted. There seems to be a steady flow of work, but they do tend to come in batches so if you see a “product description” title, chances are that you will see several more that are also product description. The site is worth investigating if a freelance writer is interested in “filler work”.
