For some bizarre reason, it appears that scam and con artists do not know how to use Google to search for people who are going to call them out. This has its benefits of course because it allows me to easily identify scams and cons and point them out so others do not fall into their weird traps. Now I have to admit, I take more than a bit of delight in this because frankly, it makes my mission to call these scumbags out. So here’s the latest one: I received an email telling me that there were work at home jobs (keep in mind what a JOB means!) available immediately and that I was “eligible” because they saw my “resume” online. OK I haven’t posted a resume online for about nine years but who knows it could still be out there someplace. So of course, I had to check it out and of course much to my (not) shock it led to yet another online con artist.
Now interestingly enough, I’ve written about this particular scam in the past, they just keep racking up new domain names to see how much they can con people out of. This particular bozo has the following domain names:
- http://my-data-team.com/
- http://www.mydatateamjobs.com/
- Work-From-Home-Training.com
- http://www.alltypeofjobs.com
- http://www.virtualassistantjobs.com
So here’s part of the problem. Each of these sites goes to a drop box address, they are largely a catch-all registrar. While this is not necessarily a red flag, what IS a red flag is the insistence that you cannot make money without paying their fee of $49.95 (good now don’t wait until it’s $99 PS it’s been 49 for at least 5 years!). Then you find this little nugget under their “earnings disclosures”:

This is crock of crap. You don’t need to spend a single dime to make money online. Here are a few examples that I can point out that will cost you NOTHING but time:
Want data entry? Try doing tasks at Amazon’s Mechanical Turk
Want data entry plus the opportunity to write? Try Crowd Cloud with your Facebook account
Want Customer service / Virtual Assistant jobs? Try Alpine Access (and this is a JOB)
The long and short of it is this guy (Darwin which in of itself is laughable) is a con artist who is interested in separating you from your money. This BBB rating is F and there are plenty of online claims about the con he’s running. Stop and think before you get sucked into any of these so-called jobs that offer you training. If you want to do simple tasks, you don’t need training that you have to pay for.
